We had a slight disappointment in 2016 as our Annual Day Programme of our school on could not be held on 17 March as per tradition because of unavailability of our usual venue - Bally Rabindra Bhawan. We presented a cut-down version of the Annual Programme and the distribution of prizes for the last year's academic achievements on Friday, 13 May 2016 in our school grounds, along with Rabindra Jayanti (Rabindra Nath Tagore's birth anniversary) celebrations. The school was closed for summer holidays after this. Here are some colourful photos of our children performing in the event. As per our tradition, a cultural programme of songs, poetry recitation and dances put up by school children on the occasion of Founder’s Day on 4 January was held. On 10 January. competitions for children between the ages 3 and 10 were held. The competitions were on sit-and-draw, poetry and singing. The prizes were given away on the same day. The enclosed Facebook posts have more details.
As per our tradition, Annual Sports events were held on 27 and 28 January in a nearby ground owned and managed by a local club. There were usual events of one race and another sporting activity per class and, events for parents. The day ended with the main attraction of the day: 'Go-as-you-Like' and distribution of prizes.
Saraswati Puja – festival of the Goddess of knowledge and wisdom – is held every year organised entirely by teachers and children. The school management has no role in its arrangement. In 2016, Saraswati Puja fell on 13 February. As per tradition an annual feast for all school kids is organised in the next weekend. This year the feast was on Sunday 14 February. Here are the Facebook posts of these two events
Photos from the 70th Independence Day celebration in our school. We celebrated in our customary style by hoisting the National Flag and singing patriotic songs. On this occasion the students and staff members of the school wish the nation a very Happy Independence Day.
